Aqua Comfort Electric Heat Pumps

The XL Series pool heater is engineered to capture more of the free heat from the surrounding air, AquaComfort Solutions innovated and perfected the science of pool heating.

The XL Series’ Turboguard titanium heat exchanger is virtually immune to damage from unbalanced water chemistry and our fan assembly uses less energy and runs almost silently. It’s a precision package that lasts longer and maintains its efficiency year-after-year. Gas heaters lose efficiency every year starting the day they’re installed. Lower amperage requirements than the competition — starting at only 20 amps — will save you money on installation too.

Over 25 years of innovation and experience allow AquaComfort to deliver top-tier heat pump technology for the best pool heat pump ownership experience in the world. But what exactly is a heat pump and how does it work? Explore the amazing technology of AquaComfort Solutions’ heat pumps to see how advanced heat pump technology can transform the way you enjoy your pool.

What is a Heat Pump?

In general, a heat pump is a device that transfers heat energy from one location to another. A heat pump captures free heat in the air, draws it in, and then converts it to usable heat for that application. With an AquaComfort heat pump, you have the ability to capture free heat to heat your pool water without the expensive options of gas or electrical heat sources. This makes heat pumps an extremely efficient way of heating your pool, as well as a cost-effective ownership option you’ll absolutely love.

  BTUs Pool Sizes* Electrical Requirements
ACT 750 55,000 24' round or 15x30' oval 240v/20A breaker
ACT 1100 93,000 33' round, 18x40' oval, or 16x32' rectangular 240v/30A breaker
ACT 1500 130,000 18x36' to 20x40' rectangular in-ground pools 240v/50A breaker

* Recommended maximum pool sizes in order to maintain up to an 82º temperature.

Heat Pumps take longer to heat in colder temperatures but cost less to generate the heat. Heat Pumps tend to bleed several quarts on condensation per day. Heat Pumps require a water pipe fitter and an electrician for proper installation. Most Heat Pumps require a 240V 50A service to function.

See the typical expense involved and savings realized over other brands of Heat Pumps and Gas Heaters using the calculator on the Aqua Comfort website. We recommend using 82 degrees as the desired temperature, NO solar cover (since not everyone uses one, even if they own one), with the unit operating from May 15 to September 31. (This offers a worst-case scenario, cost comparison).
